Old style · rate sheets and Excel
ScatteredEvery quote starts with finding the right file, every operator adds a margin of their own, and nobody sees the surcharge that was missed. Mispricing is a matter of time.
Carriers price per container, consolidators per W/M, airlines per weight break, truckers per zone, kilometre or city, customs brokers per declaration, warehouses per pallet a day and insurers per cent of value. The Logistics ERP rate engine stores each one the way the vendor sends it, in one structure built to cover the price formats forwarders meet every day.
Road hauliers do not agree on anything, least of all a price list. Container trucking, LTL and FTL are priced per zone matrix, per kilometre band or per city pair, per pallet, loading metre, kilo or truck. Enter the rate contract in the trucker's own model and the engine prices any address.
Rate contracts hold what you buy, exactly as each vendor sells it. A rate template chains them into a route: pickup, export customs, origin, freight, destination and insurance, each line with its own margin. That template prices everything the ERP sells.
Margin per rate on the template, discount per client on the client. Set once, used by every operator, the Client Portal and the Rate Publisher. No personal margin sheets, no forgotten surcharge, no client quoted last quarter's price.
Years of pricing sheets in your own format do not have to go. The Logistics ERP Excel Add-in links their cells to the rate engine, so every price arrives with your margin per rate and the client's discount: the same price Quick Quote gives, in the layout your team and your clients know.
Quick Quote prices every carrier and mode from the rate engine while the client is still on the phone. The same prices reach the Rate Publisher, the Client Portal, order offers, services and invoices, without anyone retyping them.
The Carrier Data Fetcher collects spot rates from the carriers on your schedule and lands them in your rate contracts. The next Quick Quote is priced on this morning's rate, not on a sheet somebody updated last month.
Quick Quote, the Client Portal, offers and invoices all read the same rate contracts.

Postcode to zone, pallets to band, band to price. Nobody looks it up in a PDF.
Each line keeps its own contract, validity and margin. Change a contract and the template follows.
Because none of them keeps a margin sheet of their own.
Your layout, your lanes. The price is the engine's: today's spot rate, 8 % margin, the client's 2 % discount.
Their own Quick Quote, with your margin and their discount, while your office was closed.
Quick Quote, the portal and new offers. Nobody opened a carrier website or a rate sheet.
A forwarder buys from carriers, consolidators, airlines, truckers, warehouses, customs brokers and insurers, and every one of them prices in its own structure. Most forwarding software stores only part of it, so the rest lives in Excel, and every operator keeps their own copy, with their own margin.
Every quote starts with finding the right file, every operator adds a margin of their own, and nobody sees the surcharge that was missed. Mispricing is a matter of time.
One place for every buy rate, one margin policy, and the same price wherever and by whomever the client is quoted.
Price like a carrier, a trucker, a warehouse and a customs broker. From one rate engine, in one ERP.
See the engineWe took the price lists forwarders receive and broke them into common building blocks. Together they cover roughly 95% of the structures in daily use, so a forwarder can store a rate exactly as the carrier, trucker, warehouse or customs broker prices it.

Trucking is where rate tables usually stop. One haulier prices per zone, the next per kilometre, the third per city pair. Each goes into its own rate contract, and each is priced the same way by Quick Quote.

Two layers, each with one job. The rate contract is what you buy, in the vendor's own format. The rate template is what you sell: a route that chains contracts together and adds your margin, line by line.
The vendor's price list as they send it: service type, price model, currency, validity, minimums and surcharges. Spot rates arrive here from the Carrier Data Fetcher.
Pickup, export customs, origin, freight, destination, delivery, warehouse and insurance: a template is a route, built from the contracts you choose per leg.
A percentage on freight, a fixed amount on customs, surcharges at cost. Each line carries its own margin, so every service earns what it should.
Set on the client and applied wherever that client is priced: Quick Quote, the Client Portal, offers and invoices.
The rate engine is not a separate tool with an export button. It is read live by every part of the ERP that shows a price, and by your own Excel sheets, so a changed rate, margin or discount is in the next quote, the portal, the sheet and the next order at once.
A price is entered once, in a rate contract. After that it travels: into the quote, the published rate sheet, the client's own portal, the order's offers and services, and finally the invoice. Nobody retypes it, so nobody mistypes it.
Origin, destination, cargo: the rate engine prices every carrier, mode and leg it has a contract for, with margin and client discount already in. The client gets an answer while still on the phone.
A priced quote in seconds instead of an hour of rate huntingSelect lanes, publish a rate sheet to your clients and prospects with each one's margin and discount. Prices come straight from the engine, and replies land in the sales lead module.
Your current prices in front of clients, replies as leadsYour clients run their own Quick Quote on your domain, day and night. The same rate engine answers, with your margin and their own discount, and a price becomes a booking in one step.
Instant prices for clients, without an operator in betweenEvery shipping mode on the order, FCL from either terminal, LCL or air, is priced from the engine into offers with gross price, P&L and transit time, before the client decides.
Every option priced, the P&L known before bookingWhen the order books its truck, customs, warehouse and terminal services, each service takes its buy and sell price from the contract and template behind the offer.
Buy and sell on every service, nothing looked up twiceThe price the client accepted becomes the invoice; the buy prices from the contracts become the payables to check vendor invoices against. The P&L on the invoice is the P&L on the quote.
Invoice matches the quote, payables match the contractsWhen margins live in each operator's own spreadsheet, the price a client gets depends on who picks up the phone. In the rate engine the margin sits on the rate and the discount on the client, so every operator, the portal and the Rate Publisher calculate the same way.
Many forwarders built their pricing in Excel over years, and their clients know those sheets. Keep them. The Logistics ERP Excel Add-in links the cells to the rate engine, so every price in your own layout is a real, current price: the buy rate from the contract, your margin per rate and the client's discount.
One price, because all three read the same contract, margin and discount.
Your lanes, your columns, the layout your team and your clients know. Nothing to rebuild in a new tool.
In the Logistics ERP tab, select the range and link each cell to its lane, equipment and service. Linked cells are marked, so nobody types over a live price.
The sheet shows that client's price: the buy rate, your margin per rate and their discount. Exactly what Quick Quote and the Client Portal give the same client.
When a contract or spot rate changes, the linked cells follow. Create the client e-mail straight from the sheet.
Keep Excel. Lose the copy-paste. Every cell priced by the same engine as Quick Quote.
See the comparisonSpot rates change every week. Keeping them current by hand means logging in to each carrier's website or opening each rate sheet, and copying lane by lane. The Carrier Data Fetcher does it on a schedule.
The carriers you buy from and the lanes you sell, with the times the fetch should run.
Each run collects spot rates and surcharges and checks them for shape and completeness, so a changed carrier format fails loudly instead of importing nonsense.
Validated rates update the carrier's rate contract, with what changed since the last run.
Quick Quote, the Client Portal and new offers pick up the new rate at once, with your margin on top.
Carrier coverage depends on what each carrier publishes and on your own contract with them. Tell us which carriers you buy from and we confirm what can be fetched. Carriers shown are examples.
Many forwarding SaaS products have no rate management at all; others store ocean and air lanes and stop there. Whatever does not fit goes back into Excel, and the time the software was meant to save is spent copying rates into it.

The SaaS columns describe categories of forwarding software in general, not a specific product. The test for any of them is simple: take this month's price sheets from your carrier, trucker, warehouse and customs broker, and see how many fit without a spreadsheet next to them.
Rate contracts, rate templates, margins, client discounts and Quick Quote are part of the Logistics ERP Windows app. Every user licence includes them, along with the full ERP they feed.
Client self-pricing runs on the Client Portal, a licence per company.
